I dug around online for a minute and found evidence to support a large secular population and the traditional Jewish population your link references (NB: the data in that link you sent is from 1993, which is about 40% of Israel's lifespan ago, and it's reasonable to think the population has shifted).
The one I found that best corresponds with my experience clarifies that many secular Israelis still incorporate traditional Jewish practices in their lives. It's this piecemeal, amorphous, ill-defined Judaism--identifying and practicing as it's convenient to do so--that I plan to explore in future pieces. https://en.idi.org.il/articles/9947
