Cool. I wasn't aware of Steady State. Indeed, resource intensive processes and processes should have their resource use (including disposal) baked into their wholesale and retail pricing--as opposed to the current system, which surreptitiously levies costs against remote (at least to westerners) people and lands.

As much as I want there to be a gentle, organized way to align resource use and sustainable production, I tend to believe that only a system's failure will create sufficient motivation for enduring change.
