Are the 400 "apartment homes" the same as apartment units? I've never heard that term. How many projects is that across? One, two, more?
More importantly, have any of these units (aka "apartment homes") been built for sites that have financing, approval, and have broken ground (all three!)?
As someone who's seen this show a million times, a unit is totally bogus until there are shovels in the dirt--and even then, projects get yanked (where's YC's Social Construct, again? What the hell has Blokable done?).
I also wonder why the insistence on these top heavy integrated affairs after the Katerra debacle. I realize $20M might seem sober in comparison, but based on the fact that Juno likely has no actual projects built, nor any guarantee thereof, there's absolutely no reason it won't share the same fate as Katerra until all the real culprits--the financialization of real estate (a la Opendoor...oh, the irony), overpaid VCs, and regulatory hurdles, not just design integration, supply chain management, and labor cost mitigation--are tackled.
But what the heck do I know, right?
