Hi. I’m David Friedlander. I have dedicated my life to demonstrating ways of living that achieve personal and planetary balance. Evidence of my dedication began in 2009 with a New York Times cover feature about bachelors taking on novel housing in the wake of the mortgage bust; in the piece I called into question the existential pursuit of ceaseless consumption and of living happily ever after in the suburbs. I later turned my attention to providing market-ready housing alternatives through the micro-apartment startup, LifeEdited. During my time there, I established myself as a global authority in micro-housing, minimalist living, and bringing tech thinking and lean startup principles to the real estate world. I landed in the Times a couple more times, Dwell, and was featured in the documentary, “Minimalism: A Documentary about the Important Things.”

I lived in New York City for 19 years before returning to Boulder, Colorado in 2020, where I write, consult, and am developing my startup, Run Haus.

I'm available for select writing and consulting gigs and seeking backers for Run Haus.
